The EU is a group of around 600 Christian students who join together to present Jesus Christ to the University, to encourage each other to stand firm in Christ, and to help each other prepare for a lifetime of Christian service.
The EU is about friendship, encouragement and service. It's about sharing coffees and prayer. It's about hanging out between lectures, being Christian together, and inviting friends to join us under Jesus' loving rule. It's about celebrating all that God has done for us in Him. The EU has been doing this since 1930.
Whether you have been a Christian for years or are still investigating the Christian faith, you are more than welcome to join in - it is our hope and prayer that you do.
The best way to understand the EU is in terms of our goals, or as we call them, our three objects, which direct all our activities:
1. To present students with the Christian Gospel and to lead them to a personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
2. To strengthen Christians in their faith and witness and to encourage them to continually submit every aspect of their life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
3. To ensure that Christians in the University are made aware of the nature, needs and challenge of Christian service at home and abroad.
Each of the objects springs from the wonderful, life-giving Lordship of Jesus. And because they reflect what God has done and is doing, they define us a group and give shape to everything we do.
