HAIRY GUERRILLA
The USYD Film Society (FilmSoc) and the USU invites members and their friends to enter its bi-annual short film competition, where complete amateurs have the chance to make their own short film! The competition aims to encourage new filmmakers to get out there and get some great experience creating a film quickly, while allowing more experienced directors to challenge themselves with the five day time limit.
It's also a great opportunity to have some fun with friends at the start of semester, before assessments start streaming in to choke the life out of you. You have the freedom to make any kind of short film you want, whether it's a drama, comedy, documentary, animation or stop-motion, provided that you include the theme somewhere in your film! Your entry will then be screened at Manning Bar in Week 4, and will be in the running for prizes, including Best Film and People's Choice.
Release of theme: Thursday 18 March
Films due 5pm: Monday 22 March
Screening of films: Thursday 25 March from 5pm in Manning Bar
Think you're up to the challenge?
