The ACCESS Centre is the backbone of the USU. The first point of call for all USU enquiries, the Centre's friendly staff answer students’ inquiries, direct them to the corners of the campus, and offer information about the latest giveaways and events. Not just a well-oiled referral machine, The ACCESS Centre is also the nucleus of student leadership, initiative and opportunity. The magic of USU is often embodied by the O-Week and Verge Arts Festivals, built slowly from the ground up in the nurturing, colourful walls of The ACCESS Centre.


Services
Whether you’re on the hunt for cheap movie money, tickets to Manning Bar gigs, student productions, revues and parties, The ACCESS Centre is your one-stop shop. If you’re in the market for badge-making, guillotining or stapling posters around campus, they’ve got the equipment. And if they don’t know the answer, they will find it out!

Competitions
For those with a creative flair, a distinct artistic vision or a larger-than-life initiative, USU runs Cash 4 Art, PALM awards, USU Short Film Competition and T-Shirt Design Competition, all dedicatedly coordinated by The ACCESS team. Such programs exist to allow students to create, envision, develop and contribute to the greater University community. Student Positions
The USU's vitality is founded upon the involvement of students as leaders within its community. Many of these budding student leaders work tirelessly from The ACCESS Centre, in the thick of the action. The O-Week and Verge Arts Festival Directors are said to inhabit the ACCESS Centre during their terms, making it their own fantastic playground, while the Community Portfolio Convenors (Environment, Multicultural, Postgraduate, Public Issues, Queer and Womens) are often in and out of the office throughout the year, using its resources creatively to develop and promote their various programs and events. Random Acts of Kindness & Monthly Funz
Do you believe in fairies? We certainly do! The ACCESS Centre is the home to the very pink USU Fairies, poised to brighten USU members’ days with gifts of all shapes and sizes each week. In a similar vein of the fun and random, ACCESS is home to the Monthly Funz, where USU members relive childhood amusements and win prizes by spinning the Wheel of Fortune one month, then digging deep into the Lucky Dip and entering into the Weekly Draw.


The ACCESS Centre is open Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm during semester and 10am – 4pm during stuvac, exams and semester break.
