Uncompromising punk rock band AGAINST ME! are known for their heavily folk-influenced sound and energetic live shows and they’re bringing it to BIG DAY OUT this summer.

Laura Jane Grace (formally known as Tom Gabel) started AGAINST ME! in Florida in 1997 as a solo act at the age of 17, drawing much influence from the early acoustic protest music. In 2001 she beefed up her sound with the help of a full band and in 2002 AGAINST ME! released their first full-length album, the highly-acclaimed Reinventing Axl Rose.

AGAINST ME! are famed for blending elements of punk, folk, and country into socially conscious and impassioned anthems. Their major label debut New Wave, produced by Butch Vig and released in 2007, was a media breakthrough and was named Spin Magazine’s Album Of The Year. AGAINST ME! showed that “punk bands can be humorous while still being so cutting socially” (Consequence Of Sound).

Earlier this year AGAINST ME! started recording their sixth studio album, entitled Transgender Dysphoria Blues, while their love of touring has left them with a powerful live show that needs to be seen to be believed. Spin Magazine named them one of the 25 greatest live bands and Rolling Stone marveled at Grace’s “trademark, throat-shredding screams”

Having played over 2,000 shows worldwide, AGAINST ME! are now heading to Australia to deliver their brand of attitude and raw power. These shows are your only chance to see AGAINST ME! outside of BIG DAY OUT 2013
