History Students Society General Meeting

The purpose of the General Meeting will be to elect new executives for the vacant positions below:

Secretary x1 - In charge of the admin of the society. This ranges from minute taking, submitting pre and post event forms, and dealing with the C&S Office.

Treasurer x1 - In charge of the funding of the societies operations. Will be in charge of the bank account, cheque book and maintaing the cashbook of the society. They are also in charge of the yearly financial audit.

Education Officer x1 - In charge of running trivia nights and organising the journal. In 2013 we would like to see this position include a stronger focus on creating connections in the History Department to benefit our members who study within the department.

For this election we will not be accepting nominations from the floor. If no nominations have been received by 10am on Monday the 21st of October, we will accept nominations from the floor. You must be a current member of the society by the release of this information, Monday the 8th of October.

All nominations must be sent to the President, Robby Magyar, by 10am on Monday the 21st of October at: rmag5242@uni.sydeny.edu.au

Nominations should detail which position/positions you are applying for, what experience you have had in the C&S program, and ideas you have for the society in 2013. Limit to 200 words.

If vacancies occur in other positions at the General Meeting we will accept nominations from the floor for these positions only.

There shall be a brief handover in all positions, which can be decided between the incumbent and incoming executives after the General Meeting.

We will also be making changes to our constitution as listed below:

Changing the name from the History Students Society to the History Society

Changing the AGM month from April to May

There will be a round of free trivia after the formal meeting, with the chance for drinks to be won.
